In my opinion, being professional is having a good mix of various aspects.
For me, TEAMWORK is one of the main points for becoming professional. During my studies, I had many opportunities to work in a team for different projecst, most of the time in a mulitcultural team with French and German people. Working in teams allows you to be creative, to contribute your own ideas in order to find the best solution for a problem and cash in on the synergies of the team because of the different kinds of thinking.
